Leaked OS 6.0.0.448 for the BlackBerry Bold 9780

Two days of leaks now but still nothing for the 9800 yet. But here is the latest for the BlackBerry Bold 9780, v6.0.0.448. If you’re interested in trying out this leak, fire up app loader or desktop manager or whatever you prefer to use and get to updating. Don’t forget to back up your device first, and read the disclaimer below. Newer Facebook is also included with this release.
*OS Disclaimer – Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you’re comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in CrackBerry forums – do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). *

RIM keeping its touchphone alive with Storm 3, says report

In Research in Motion’s iconic family of BlackBerry smartphones, there has only ever been one line of products to have no keyboard, the more than two-year old Storm line. Now, leaks obtained by Boy Genius Report purportedly show RIM is trying again with the all-touch BlackBerry in 2011.
The device, which has been referred to as Monaco internally, has a 3.7″ (800 x 480) capacitive touchscreen, a 1.2GHz processor, a 5 Megapixel camera with 720p video capture, running BlackBerry OS 6.1.
RIM only announced the BB 6.1 application platform this week at BlackBerry DevCon Asia in Bali, Indonesia. The new features of 6.1 will be available to developers soon, and will include Magnetic/DIgital Compass APIs, Open GL-ES 2.0, a new Window API which overlays native app surfaces with Java or OpenGL elements, Event-based Geofencing Location APIs, enhanced barcoding APIs, and more.

Accordingly, the leaked information about the Storm 3/Monaco mentions the inclusion of both OpenGL ES 2.0 support and a magnetometer.
Leaked OS 6.0.0.424 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 Fixes and Findings

Another year, another Blackberry OS leak! This time Bold 9700 users can upgrade their device today should they choose to. Indeed, this leak also includes a new version of BlackBerry Messenger that may interest some as well. While only showing a slight increase in App version from the previous highest available leak, it does have a higher platform which might just be the breaking point for those debating whether or not to upgrade.
